Finkbine Lumber Company Site

Where a timber Goliath made short work of tall trees.

D’Lo’s virgin timber was untouched until the coming of the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad, which in turn brought the Finkbine Lumber Company in 1914. Over the next 13 years the lumber company employed a daily workforce of 800, and ultimately produced over 600 million feet of long leaf pine timber.
